As you might know my jewellery is inspired by the beauty and sentiment of old photographs which I source from a number of places. I know nothing of the people within the photographs and often wonder what their story was; their names, relationship, date it was taken...
I feel having this information would give my designs a new dimension and turn them into little pieces of history.
I have launched an interactive jewellery project based on this idea which is called 'Jewellery with a Story.' I need you to email/tweet/facebook me your old photographs and little paragraph of information relating to the photo. It can be as detailed or simple as you like! My plan is to use the images and stories I am sent as the basis for my next collection of work. All the photos will be displayed on this blog and the process will be shown as they are transformed into narrative, bespoke pieces of jewellery.
